A week after the global rollout of Android Marshmallow, the update is now making its way through Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge handsets in the UK. The latest Marshmallow with version 6.0.1 is available for Vodafone subscribers with build version XXU3DPB8. But it would hit all other networks including the unlocked variants soon.

The new Android version brings a host of new and improved features for the Galaxy devices. They are Samsung Internet 4.0 with better privacy and functionality and Cross App that lets users access useful apps while inside the messaging program.

Samsung Internet 4.0 offers a Secret mode that allows users to browse freely, without leaving any trace of the browsing history, cookies, passwords or auto-fill data. The Secret mode works with fingerprint authentication and you can save bookmarks and save pages in this mode. Bookmarks and video history between Gear VR and Galaxy phones and tablets can be shared easily with the Internet version 4.0.

Alongside the new browser version, the update adds Cross app, using which you can operate certain apps within other apps. For instance, while using messaging apps, you can access photos and videos and send them to whoever you are talking to. You can even open a URL inside the chat using the in-app browser and Cross App will allow you to play multimedia in a chat. You can play videos within the chat and on full-screen.

Apart from these, Marshmallow brings other useful apps. You can now take advantage of the new power saving mode such as Doze mode and App Standby mode. As for audio, the latest Android flavour supports MIDI protocol that lets users retrieve a list of audio devices connected to the system. There is also the dynamic playback that lets you adjust the audio when playing a video.
