Galaxy S7/S7 Edge software update
New firmware update rolling out to Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge Reuters

Samsung has rolled out a software update for the newly released Galaxy S7 and its curved screen variant in several regions across the globe with a bunch of improvements. Bearing build version XXU1APD1, the update is available through over-the-air and weighs in at slightly more than 156MB.

This release adds the shape correction feature for skewed photos, for which you should be able to find a toggle in the camera settings. This feature corrects the shape of photos that appear distorted. Apart from this, you should also notice stability improvements in terms of touch and overall enhancements for the system and performance. Finally, there are the usual bug fixes.

The update brings good news for those Galaxy S7 Edge owners who were facing issues with the display that causes unintentional touches while using the keyboard and camera app. The problem was said to be due to the improper functioning of the palm or finger rejection mechanism. Sammobile claims the palm rejection on the display is now better with the update.

You may check the availability of the update manually from Settings>> About phone>> Software update. Alternatively, you can flash the firmware files on the phone and perform a manual update using Odin flashing tool. Following are the firmware details for the Galaxy S7 duos.
