Galaxy Tab S2: Android 7.0 Nougat update starts rolling out to users in Europe
The S2 is the first Samsung tablet to receive the Nougat update.
Samsung has started rolling out the Android 7.0 update to its Galaxy Tab S2 users. The S2 is the first Samsung tablet to receive the Nougat update.
The latest update is an over-the-air (OTA) one and currently rolling out to the Galaxy Tab S2 8.0in variant (SM-T715) in Italy and the Galaxy Tab S2 9.7in variant (SM-T810) in Germany.
The update will roll out in phases so users in other European countries will get it over the next few days, while other regions may have to wait for a while. Carrier-bound users in US and Canada will have to check when their service provider releases the update.
Apart from the usual Android 7.0 goodies, the update also brings Game Launcher, a refreshed TouchWiz UI, improvements to notifications and quick setting buttons. Since the rollout is at an early stage, it is not known if the Nougat changes brought to the Galaxy S2 are the same as those onboard the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, Samsung's first devices that received the update.
In case you own one of these devices and want to check for the update manually, just head over to Settings>About Device>Software Update to check if your device has received it. If not you will have to wait a while before the Nougat update rolls out in your region.
