Game of Thrones Season 4: How Littlefinger's Deadly Plans Change Entire Narrative of Fantasy Series
Sunday's Game of Thrones episode just dropped another huge bombshell and the entire narrative of HBO's fantasy drama turned upside down.
The episode reveals that Littlefinger planned the murder of King Joffrey with the help of Sansa Stark and later took Sansa to meet her aunt Lysa.
The shocking revelations in the 'First of His Name' episode emerge as Lord Petyr Baelish aka Littlefinger returns to the Eyrie to meet Lysa Arryn.
Sansa realises the trap as her Aunt Lysa accuses her of sleeping with Littlefinger and asks her to marry her insane cousin Robyn.
The lethal association of Littlefinger and Lysa was well known long back but their romantic connection was a surprise package.
Lysa's shocking confessions make the episode a game changer as thousands of innocent people had died across kingdoms because of their deadly plots.
In the episode, Lysa Arryn loosens her lips and admits to poisoning her husband Jon Arryn on Littlefinger's request and then sending a letter to Catelyn in which she accuses Cersei of murdering her husband.
"You gave me those drops and told me to pour them into Jon's wine," Lysa confesses before Littlefinger. "You told me to write to a letter to Cat, tell her that it was the Lannisters."
The letter prompted Ned Start to go to the King's Landing and since then horrible things have happened in the series.
She also confirms Littlefinger's vicious plan of creating rift between the Lannisters and the Starks led to Lord Ned Stark's brutal execution, destruction of the Westeros, the grim battle between the Five Kings and not to forget the recent assassination of King Joffrey.
The new revelations emerged even as fans were blaming Jaime and Cersei's incest and ambition for all the mishaps in and around the King's Landing. Suddenly Littlefinger emerges as the master player, changing the course of the popular fantasy drama.
The battle for the iron throne takes a twist in the fifth episode as Littlefinger marries Jon Arryn's widow Lysa and becomes the Lord Protector of the Vale.
From now his deadly plots will start taking shape as Vale holds one of the biggest armies in Westeros and marrying Lysa is the only way to get more power in order to claim the iron throne of the King's Landing, which is battling the young King's assassination and dwindling funds.
