Gamescom: First Crackdown Xbox One gameplay to be shown off promises Phil Spencer
Xbox boss Phil Spencer has confirmed the first gameplay footage from Xbox One's Crackdown will be shown off at Microsoft's press conference at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany on 4 August. He revealed as such on Twitter in response to a fan question.
Spencer also confirmed Microsoft's content review for the conference happened on 27 July and the show is beginning to be finalised. Microsoft deliberately held some games back from its E3 press conference in June with Gamescom in mind.
@TSobski Final Gamescom content review was today and things are becoming final. Lot's of nostalgia for me with the Crackdown gameplay.

Crackdown was chief among them and will be the star of Xbox's Gamescom alongside overdue shooter Quantum Break and Platinum Games' Scalebound. Other games that did feature at E3 2015 will also be in attendance.
Both Crackdown and Scalebound have not been shown off publicly since they were first announced at E3 2014. Quantum Break, meanwhile, has suffered numerous delays. It is a casualty of the Xbox One's change of focus from its initial television-focused launch to the out-and-out games machine it is now.
It will certainly be interesting to see how the game is shaping up following its development troubles and ahead of its 2016 release.
Gamescom takes place from Wednesday 5 August through until Sunday 9 August. It is among the world's largest video game trade shows open to the public, attracting hundreds of thousands of people in 2014, with even more expected for this year's event.
