'Get some clothes on': Piers Morgan calls Emily Ratajkowski 'global bimbo' after saucy lingerie shoot
"I don't know quite what she is. She's a global bimbo," Morgan said of Ratajkowski's latest shoot.
Emily Ratajkowski took her love for spaghetti and lingerie to a new level in Love magazine's annual advent calendar but Piers Morgan is clearly not a fan of her racy style.
The Good Morning Britain host didn't hold back his opinion on the 26-year-old's spaghetti spread-cover. He told viewers during his 6 December show, "I don't know quite what she is. She's a global bimbo."
His co-host Susanna Reid cheekily added, "Piers has got a personal vendetta against her. She likes to think taking her clothes off is promoting feminism." Responding to his co-host, he explained, "She's posted something on Instagram about how what we are watching now is unbelievably empowering to feminists."
"For goodness sake - get some clothes on and get yourself a proper job," the journalist said of the model's shoot.
The Blurred Lines beauty caused a stir on social media as she posed in pink lacy two-piece lingerie. The swimsuit model who is seen covered in olive oil, eventually ends up putting the spaghetti all over herself and writhing on a table filled with pasta.
Morgan also called out Ratajkowski for promoting "feminism" on Twitter, alongside photos from her Love magazine shoot. He wrote on 5 December, "This is Emily Ratajkowski 'promoting feminism'. Somewhere, Emmeline Pankhurst just vomited."
Responding to the backlash, she took to Twitter to clarify the "feminist statement". She wrote, "Lol never said my love video was a feminist statement. But now it's worth saying that telling women what to do with their bodies & sexuality is actually just classic sexism. I can have opinions about feminism & also do sexy photo shoots k thanks."
The 26-year-old model had earlier revealed to Love magazine that she found the shoot empowering. "In the wake of women coming forward with incredible amounts of sexual harassment cases, I have been so disappointed to hear women talk about 'modesty' and 'our responsibility' as if we need to, yet again, adjust to make it 'easier' for the rest of the world," she told the outlet.
"I'm tired of having to consider how I might be perceived by men if I wear a short skirt or post a sexy Instagram. I want to do what I want to do," she added.
Apart from Ratajkowski, celebrities who appeared in the 2017 Advent Calendar theme #staystrong include Kendall Jenner, Ashley Graham and Gigi Hadid.
