Google has its Pixel bubble burst again with leaked smartphone advert
The tech world's worst kept secret shows itself again before the launch event.
Google has officially had its thunder stolen thanks to a leaked commercial showing off its new Pixel phones. No doubt we're still going to have to act surprised when Google does its big unveiling in just a few hours' time.
Within the past 48 hours we've seen at least two major leaks of Google's upcoming smartphones, with the leaked trailer, spotted by Droid Life, following yesterday's snafu by Carphone Warehouse which saw the new devices listed on its website more a day early.
The trailer, accompanied by some disconcerting heavy breathing, features a bunch of kids staring at something on the ground with Google's search bar sat in the middle of the screen. "What is that?" says one of them. "Man, I dunno, ask Google," replies the other. The search bar then begins to morph into a phone-shaped rectangle before flipping around to reveal the Pixel phone.
In case you didn't get the memo, Google's Pixel launch event begins today (4 October) at 9am PST/ 5pm GMT and can be live-streamed on YouTube. IBTimes UK will be attending a special launch ceremony in London, so be sure to stay tuned to @IBTimesUKTech for all the news on the Pixel, Google Home, Daydream VR and Google's new Andromeda operating system as it happens.
