Greg Nicotero reveals why Norman Reedus ran naked on The Walking Dead set
The Walking Dead season 7 will premiere in October on AMC.
Rick and Michonne's warm and steamy romance certainly was a sight to remember in The Walking Dead season 6. Now, executive producer Greg Nicotero has revealed that fans missed Norman Reedus, another lead actor, walking on the set with his pants down in the previous season of the zombie horror thriller.
In the new The Walking Dead: The Complete Sixth Season Blu-ray + Digital HD, he revealed the hilarious reason behind Reedus (Daryl Dixon) running naked on the TWD sets. "Norman, this was the day that you ran up naked," the executive producer said in the commentary of the premiere episode (via Entertainment Weekly)
Apparently, the actor overslept during his filming but refused use a body double for his part of scenes. Hence to make up the time till he sprinted to the filming area, he started stripping off his clothes and managed to reach the set naked. "Norman's alarm didn't go off and we put a [stunt] double in his wardrobe. And Norman refused and got to set, stripped his clothes off on his way to set, and got in the shot before we were ready," Nicotero said.
Reedus' character Daryl's fate remains unknown as he is one of the captive in Negan's deadly den. It is only the premiere episode of TWD season 7 that will decide whether he will be saved from Negan's wrath or his head will be smashed.
In the previous week, a clip by AMC has sparked rumours that Daryl's fate may have been sealed in the premiere episode as Dwight was spotted wearing the crossbow-wielding warrior's vest. The face of the victim will only be revealed in the premiere episode and the show creators and producers have warned that the outcome of the episode will be catastrophic for Rick
The filming for the upcoming season continues in Jekyll Island location. TWD season 7 will premiere on 23 October on AMC.
