Grumpy Cat to get wax figure at Madame Tussauds
Internet sensation Grumpy Cat, is being honoured by the Madame Tussauds museum in San Francisco.
The internet's most famous cat, known as Grumpy Cat, is being honoured by the Madame Tussauds museum in San Francisco. The museum just announced that the famous cat will be immortalised in wax later this year.
The three-year-old is now going through fittings, measurements and photo sessions by the team of Madame Tussauds. According to the news agency PTI, the wax figure of the cat will reportedly purr, close her eyes and fall asleep. The wax statue will have five different movements.
Madame Tussauds has posted a video on its official channel on YouTube. It shows how Tardar Sauce aka Grumpy Cat goes through the motions as the Madame Tussauds team measures her for the creation of the museum's "first animatronic cat."
Grumpy Cat is one of the most successful and loved animal stars on the internet, and has 300,000 Twitter followers. She came into the limelight when her photo was posted on Reddit on 22 September 2012.
According to the owner, Tabatha Bundesen, of Arizona, the cat's permanently grumpy-looking face is due to an underbite and feline dwarfism, according to PTI. The Grumpy Cat's wax statue is to make stops at five other cities across the US, CNET reported.
