Guardians of the Galaxy 2: Leaked on-set video hints at Earth setting, Nathan Fillion's character revealed
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is still a year away from its premiere but an on-set video shot by a fan reveals some impending threat, scaring people who are running in fear. The video also confirms that the Marvel movie will have some substantial part set on Earth.
The video, posted by Allison Parker Hill on his Facebook page, claims his "little own" Cartersville will be featured in Guardians 2. In the video, a bunch of people can be seen running while trying to evade some impending threat that perhaps has arrived on Earth from space.
The video also coincides with another image leak, sparking fresh rumours about Nathan Fillion's character in the superhero movie. According to the leak, the Firefly actor will play the character of Simon Williams, also known as the Wonder Man.
If the rumours are true, then Fillion will join the Marvel's cinematic universe. In the comic universe, Wonder Man is the brother of Grim Reaper. But later he abandons the bad side and joins the Avengers to fight the evil. After retiring from the Avengers, Williams pursues acting as a career.
The leaked image reveals a series of movie posters outside a theatre with a sign reading Simon Williams Film Festival.
However, it is yet unknown whether the on-set video has any connection with the Star Lord aka Peter Quill, played by Chris Pratt. Marvel has already confirmed that the upcoming sequel to the superhero film based on space will be about Peter Quill trying to find his father, who is an ancient and unknown species.
It will be interesting to see whether Wonder Man has any answers about the Star Lord's (who is half human and half alien) parental mysteries. Guardians of the Galaxy 2 will open in theatres on 5 May 2017. Helmed by James Gunn, the movie also stars Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax, Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Michael Rooker as Yondu, Karen Gillan as Nebula and Sean Gunn as Kraglin. New cast members include Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Chris Sullivan and Kurt Russell.
