Gwyneth Paltrow ends marriage to Chris Martin two years after 'consciously uncoupling'
Gywneth Paltrow has ended her marriage to Chris Martin two years after the pair announced they were 'consciously uncoupling.' While the 43- year-old actress filed a divorce petition in April 2015 the Coldplay frontman didn't respond to the legal paperwork, enabling the former couple to work out the details of the formal separation and reach a settlement in private.
While both parties have waived their rights for spousal support, Paltrow has requested a default judgement which would ensure the details of their divorce and the division of their assets would remain confidential.
The pair, who have two children, Apple, 12, and Moses, 10, split amicably after 12 years of marriage, maintaining their friendship for the sake of their children. They have been seen together at public events and have been on holiday with their children to Mexico and more recently to Disneyland after agreeing to share joint custody.
Speaking at the #BlogHer15 conference in New York, the Oscar winning actress said family remains a priority. "I think, unfortunately, though we couldn't stay in a romantic relationship, we're very, our values are very much around the importance of family and the importance of those relationships and I'm lucky that we're aligned in that way."
While the divorce will soon be legally formalised, the pair have already moved on romantically. Chris briefly dated The Hunger Games actress Jennifer Lawrence but the relationship fizzled out in 2015. More recently the Paradise singer has been linked to British actress Annabelle Wallis, 31 while Gwyneth is dating Scream Queens producer Brad Falchuk, 45.
The Iron Man 3 actress earlier revealed she is taking a break from acting to focus on her lifestyle brand Goop.
