Gwyneth Paltrow shares cute photo of Chris Martin reuniting with son ahead of Thanksgiving
Even after their split in 2014, Paltrow and Martin have remained close for the sake of their children.
Gwyneth Paltrow has shared a cute photo of her former husband Chris Martin reuniting with their 10-year-old son Moses ahead of Thanksgiving. The Coldplay frontman is seen hugging his son in the image posted on Instagram.
Alongside the image, the Iron Man actress wrote, "Here is to reunions, togetherness, family, and love love love. Happy thanksgiving eve, everyone. Love, gp"
The former couple, who split amicably after 12 years of marriage, have two children – 12-year-old Apple, and Moses. Back in 2014, Paltrow had posted a message titled "Conscious Uncoupling" on her lifestyle website Goop to announce their separation.
In an interview with NME, the 39-year-old singer had admitted that he wanted to keep things friendly with Gwyneth for the sake of their children. Martin said, "If you have kids and they start reading about their parents not liking each other, that's not good. We just spent a long time trying to maintain a friendship so there wouldn't have to be any kind of battle.
"Of course, village gossip, we all like to know what everyone's up to ... But once you start being in it you realise, well, this isn't really based on any truth. Especially if you go through a big break-up, there's no point reading about it. There's just no good gonna come from it.
Paltrow also opened up about her split from Martin and told Harper's Bazaar UK, "There are times when I think it would have been better if we had stayed married, which is always what your children want. But we have been able to solidify this friendship, so that we're really close."
The Shakespeare in Love actress added, "It's painful, it's difficult, it might be easier to say, "I never want to see you again," but what good does that do anyone?" she said of the split. "We've made a lot of mistakes, and we've had good days and bad days, but I have to say, I'm proud of us for working through so much stuff together – and not blaming and shaming."
