A two-year-old baby and a 45-year-old woman have been found murdered at a home in Hackney Reuters

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a 45-year-old woman and a two-year-old baby at an address in Hackney.

The Metropolitan Police Service was called at 09:11am today after reports of three people injured at the address.

Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found a 45-year-old woman, a 23-month old baby girl and a 53-year old man suffering from injuries.

The baby and the woman were pronounced dead at the scene and officers are yet to formally identify the bodies.

The man was taken to an east London hospital where he remains in a stable condition with what are thought to be non-life threatening injuries. He has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Post-mortems will take place in due course while enquires continue to establish the circumstances of the incident.
