Halewood stabbing: Merseyside teenagers questioned over attempted murder
Merseyside Police are questioning three teenagers over the attempted murder of a boy in Halewood after a street fight.
Three boys – a 17-year-old boy from Huyton, a 17-year-old from Kirkby and a 16-year-old from Halewood – have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
All three have been taken to police stations in Merseyside where they will be questioned by detectives.
The victim is now in a critical but stable condition in hospital.
Officers were called to Okell Drive, Halewood, just before 9pm on Monday (9 March) to reports of three males having been injured.
When they arrived they found three local teenage boys, all aged 16 years, who had suffered injuries.
One of them had suffered a serious stab wound to his chest and was taken to hospital where he is being treated for his injuries. His condition is described as critical.
The two others boys, who were not seriously injured, were also taken to hospital but were discharged a short while later.
Although the investigation is in its early stages officers believe that there had been a fight between two groups of local youths, which resulted in the three teenagers being injured.
Detectives are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who has any information which could help them with their inquiries, to come forward. Anyone with information is asked to contact Knowsley CID on 0151 777 6561, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
