The second half of season 3 of Hannibal will focus on the serial killer Red Dragon NBC

Hannibal will begin the second part of season 3 by shifting its focus to another serial killer who is way more dangerous that Dr Hannibal Lecter.

In the upcoming episode titled The Great Red Dragon, the series will jump forward several years with Lecter surrendering himself before FBI special-in-charge Jack Crawford while Will Graham vows not to have any contact with his arch rival in future.

Episode 8 will also introduce a deadlier villain Francis Dolarhyde, also known as the Tooth Fairy or the Red Dragon.

Richard Armitage will play the character of the serial killer Red Dragon, who has a penchant for slaughtering entire families without a hint of mercy, TV Line reports.

The official synopsis of episode 8 reads: "Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) has been under lock and key for three years at the Baltimore State Hospital for the Criminally Insane, when a new villain arises in Francis Dolarhyde (guest star Richard Armitage), also known as "The Tooth Fairy." As the investigation unfolds Jack Crawford (Laurence Fishburne) approaches Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) to help catch this vicious serial killer who is targeting families."

The upcoming episode will also introduce Will's wife Molly (played by Nina Arianda) as he starts living a new life outside the FBI and crime cases.

But the latest unsolved mystery of the Tooth Fairy will force Crawford to find and seek help from the former FBI agent who helped nab the cannibal and serial killer Lecter.

In order to crack the Dolarhyde case Will will seek help from Hannibal Lecter. Hannibal episode 8 will air on 25 July on NBC.
