Harry Judd Wins ‘Strictly Come Dancing’
McFly star Harry Judd has won the "Strictly Come Dancing" show 2011. In the grand finale of the show, held at the Blackpool's Tower Ballroom on Saturday night, 25-year-old Judd and his partner Aliona beat Chelsee Healey and her partner Pasha Kovalev, and Jason Donovan and his partner Kristina Rihanoff.
"All I can say is thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has supported Aliona and me. I have had the most incredible experience. I have been on the best show on TV and I am just honoured," Judd was quoted as saying by the Sun.
In a classic face-off, which head Judge Len Goodman called "the Battle of Blackpool", finalists had to perform four dances each. After four dances, Judd and Aliona scored 156 out of 160 from the judges while Chelsee and Pasha scored 153.
However, Judd was nervous at the beginning of the show. He said, "I was so nervous when I first started and I didn't think I'd be able to do it. But somehow Aliona's got me through it. Honestly wow," the OK magazine reported.
The magazine reported that when Judd was crowned champion by Bruce Forsyth, his McFly bandmates Tom Fletcher, Dougie Poynter and Danny Jones rushed onto the stage to hug him.
He then invited his girlfriend Izzy Johnston, who was sitting in the crowd for a sneeky song.
Harry and Aliona performed well in their four final dances - a lively quickstep, sizzling showdance, sultry American Smooth, and perfect Argentine Tango.
Runner-up Chelsee was quoted by the Sun as saying, "Never in a million years did I expect I would be in the final. This is way up there with anything I have ever done before in my life."
"When I first started, a lot of people did not know who I was. People did not expect me to be able to do the Waltz because it is so elegant. I will leave this competition a different person," Chelsee added.
Judd was earlier rated as the best dancer of the series by judges.
