Strong rumours suggesting that Harry Styles might be leaving One Direction have got fans worried. Is it possible that that the singer is seriously contemplating going solo?

After a report came out that Styles may be working on a solo project, fans are worried about the future of One Direction. It all started last week when Kodaline frontman Steve Garrigan revealed he was writing for One Direction because of Styles, reports Enstars.

"It was really strange how they came about," Garrigan told Digital Spy about Styles. "He just turned up to a show, and he likes our music. We had a bit of free time and so we went to the studio and wrote a song. It was good fun."

"There are hundreds of songs flying around," Garrigan said about being picked to be on 1D's new album. "It could be on his album if he does something, but I don't know. Nothing is set in stone."

This statement fuelled rumours that Styles could be leaving One Direction, however, the band's representative addressed these rumours stating that the singer has no such plans.

"There are no plans for Harry to release any solo music at this time, any writing that he is doing is for potential One Direction songs," a rep for One Direction told E! News on July 1.

"It's common knowledge that the boys write separately and bring to each other for the album."

One Direction is currently on their Where We Are international tour.
