Hilarious Apple autocorrect fail changes 'lardass' to 'Kardashian'
Oh dear. It seems Apple's autocorrect has it in for the Kardashians after it was discovered those who typed in the word 'lardass' into text messages found it automatically changed it to Kardashian. The curvy correction has had Twitter users highly amused at the inadvertent insult.
In case you aren't familiar, the term 'lardass' is a derogatory term that refers to someone with "especially large buttocks", according to the Oxford dictionary. Whether by chance or design, Apple's messaging system changes it to Kardashian. Now, there are quite a few of those Kardashians but it is hilariously ironic considering Kim Kardashian is notorious for her generous backside and tried to "break the internet" by balancing a bottle of champagne on said behind.
The autocorrect fail is found on iOS 9.2 – the latest version of Apple's operating software – but will not work on older versions or on other operating systems. Twitter users have had plenty of fun with the discovery sharing plenty of lols.
This almost seems too funny to be coincidence, so whether someone at Apple has cheekily slipped this into the update we are unsure. Apple has yet to respond, neither has any one of the Kardashian brood, who we presume will find this less amusing.
Although we doubt Kim Kardashian will be that bothered as Apple has been very kind to her bank account with her iOS game, Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, reportedly raking in over $200 million (£133.3m) for her and developers. Also keen to take advantage of this are her sisters Kylie, Kendall, Khloe and Kourtney, who have all released their own apps on the App Store.
