A homeless man was given a winning lottery ticket by "magician prankster" Rahat, who recorded the man's reaction and then posted it on YouTube.

Many YouTube viewers have reported being moved to tears by the clip.

In the video Rahat explains that he had seen a homeless man near a local shopping centre and wants to do something helpful for him.

"He is a nice and respectable guy. So today I am going to make him think that he has just won the lottery," Rahat said.

The homeless man, who is initially unsure whether he has actually won $1,000 (£599), bursts into tears as he cashes in the winning ticket.

After the initial emotion, the homeless man tries to give part of the money to Rahat, saying that he wants to share his win.

"I've been doing this for a long time. A long time. And never, never had somebody do what you just did back there. Never," he told Rahat.

The video, which was uploaded on Wednesday 4 March, has already had over 1,300,000 views.
