How 2004 sex tape ruined Paris Hilton's dreams of being modern Princess Diana: 'I was so depressed'

American socialite Paris Hilton in an interview with Marie Claire magazine has expressed regret over her leaked sex tape, which she claims has doomed her royal dreams forever.

Not just that, but the x-rated video that the reality star had filmed with her then boyfriend Rick Salomon in 2004, was also the cause of much public humiliation, as per Hilton.

"It's really hurtful, because my whole life I really looked up to Princess Diana, all these elegant, amazing women, and I feel like [Salomon] just took that all away from me," the heiress to the Hilton hotels told Marie Claire.

"I could have been like that, but because of that tape, I will always be judged and thought of as whatever they say about me because of a private moment between my boyfriend and me," she said.

The House of Wax star also opened up about her biggest "regret" during the candid magazine interview. And it's got everything to do with her doomed relationship with Salomon in the past.

"I wish I had never met him. That is actually the one regret in my life. I wish that I had never met that guy," Hilton admitted about her ex.

The sex tape scandal that hit the news in 2004, was timed just as Hilton's TV series The Simple Life was about to make its debut. "I could not leave my house for months. I was so depressed, humiliated. I didn't want to be seen in public," Hilton added about the horrific experience following the release of the footage that was originally filmed in 2001.

However, since then, the model-cum-actress has moved on in her life and is currently dating Leftovers actor Chris Zylka. Although news of Hilton's hot new romance surfaced in February, within a short while, the TV personality is already discussing her future plans with her boyfriend.

Speaking about her children special Foam and Diamonds party last weekend, she recently revealed to Mail Online how she had a great time with the tiny tots.

"It made me think about how I can't wait to have my own child one day and how special that feeling would be," Hilton said.
