Below are two different methods to transfer data from the old iPhone to the new edition:you can use either of them. Also note that the old iPhone device should be running the iOS 8 software.
Before jumping to the tutorial, users are advised to manually back up the old iPhone. This is for those who wish to restore from an iCloud backup. If you are using iTunes to restore, skip this section.

- Launch Settings app on the iPhone
- Tap on iCloud
- Tap Backup>> Back Up Now and wait for the process to complete

Step-1: Power on the new iPhone, you should see a welcome screen. Slide your finger across to the bottom option which says slide to set up
Step-2: Choose your desired language
Step-3: Select the country or region accordingly
Step-4: Choose Wi-Fi network and enter the password for it. Choose Use Cellular in case you don't have access to Wi-Fi. Note that some items in the iCloud backup will be restored without Wi-Fi. Other will be available once the device is connected to a Wi-Fi network. Otherwise you can choose to restore from an iTunes backup
Step-5: Select Restore from iCloud backup on the next screen
Step-6: Sign into your iCloud account and tap next
Step-7: Agree to the terms and conditions then confirm by agreeing in the popup menu
Step-8: Choose backup
Step-9: Type in iTunes or iCloud passwords you are asked and tap Next
Step-10: Wait for the iPhone to restore from iCloud. This process will take some time depending on the data the device has

Those who believe that iTunes backup and restore is a safe method may follow the guide below. You should be having the latest version of iTunes.
