Continuity Calling and Handoff Not Working on iOS 8: Try Out the Fix
The new Continuity feature is a key aspect of Apple's latest iOS software iteration which offers a seamless experience on iOS devices. It allows users to answer phone calls on the iPhone, iPad and soon on Mac, through Yosemite.
The Continuity feature is available on iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, Pad 4<sup>th generation, iPad Air, iPad mini, iPad mini with Retina display and iPod Touch 5g.
The Handoff is a notable feature on Continuity, which lets users start a task on one device and complete it on another.
It seems a number of users who have updated their devices to iOS 8 are having issues with either one of these features. Thankfully, there is an easy fix available that will make the features work. Those who have been facing similar issues may try out the fix.
Fix for Continuity and Handoff issues on iOS 8
Step-1: Open the Settings app on your device running iOS 8
Step-2: Click General
Step-3: Click Handoff & Suggested Apps
Step-4: Turn Handoff option Off and turn it On again
Step-5: Tap General at the top of return to the previous menu
Step-6: Tap Settings at the top of return to the previous menu
Step-7: Tap FaceTime
Step-8: Put the iPhone Cellular Calls option Off and then put it back On again
Step-9: Once the action is completed, reboot the iPhone or the iPad
Note: Follow a similar process with the iOS devices that have this issue. You may place a test call to check whether the issue is fixed or not.
This fix seems to have worked for most users. But note that the iPhone or iPad should be running iOS 8.
