HTC confirms Android N coming to HTC 10, One A9 and One M9
HTC has become one of the first original equipment manufacturers to announce Android N availability plan for its devices. HTC's flagship devices eligible to receive the latest Android iteration are the HTC 10, One A9 and One M9.
Other devices are also expected to join the list. HTC says more details about the timing and additional devices to receive the update would be announced later when Google ships Android N to manufacturers. The announcement comes from HTC's official Twitter account.
Meanwhile, in response to a query related to the Android N update status for One M8, Jeff Gordon, senior global online communication manager at HTC, said on Twitter: "Not sure yet. Not saying yes or no yet, however please note M8 over 2 years old now."
Thanks to the release of Android developer preview, we have a sneak peek into what the new Android version would bring, much ahead of its official release which is scheduled for the third quarter of 2016.
At its I/O annual developer conference, Google released the third developer preview version of Android N featuring seamless updates that would enable new Android N powered devices to install system updates in the background automatically. This means when you power up your Android N device next time, the devices would automatically switch to the new updated system image.
Google is calling Android N developer preview 3 its first beta-quality candidate available for testing on the Nexus 6, 9, 5X, 6P, Nexus Player, Pixel C and Android One (General Mobile 4G).
