HTC One M7 gets new software update 6.09.401.12 with fix for critical NFC module defect [OTA link]
HTC has released a new stock firmware update for its One M7 smartphone.
Renowned XDA developer, LlabTooFeR took to Twitter to announce that HTC has released a maintenance update for the One M7. The firmware build for this update is 6.09.401.12, which is based on Android 4.4.3 KitKat.
According to the release note of the update, which weighs in at 193.94MB, a fix for the critical NFC module defect that blocked contactless payments function with Wallet app has been included. Also, paying in city transport with a smartphone functionality has been added in the Wallet app, for several regions.
Users are advised to have a stable Wi-Fi connection to download and install the update as doing it via mobile data connection may incur additional charges. To check the availability of the update head over to Settings>> About phone>> Software update>> Check now.
Those who have not received the OTA notification yet can install it manually as the OTA download links are available for the update.
