Will HTC One X Take Down Apple's iPhone 5 And Samsung Galaxy S3?

Samsung's highly anticipated flagship device - Galaxy S3 - is poised to become the most-rivaled smartphone after iPhone 4S. Recently leaked press invite, suggests the Galaxy S3 could hit the stands on 22 May. Riding on its predecessor S2's splendid performance, the S3 promises to set the stage on fire.

However, it is going to be a three-way battle of survival with HTC and Apple staking their claims for supremacy. HTC One X is the first quad-core Android smartphone to sport Beats audio with realistic sound experience, while Apple has a few tricks up its sleeve for the elusive next-gen smartphone.

[1] Display

HTC One X flaunts a 4.7-inch Super IPS LCD2 capacitive touchscreen with a whopping resolution of 1280x720 pixels at 312 pixels per inch (ppi). According to Christianpost, the Korean Times reports, the tech giant could introduce OLED display in its next-generation iPhone. OLED technology looks surely on the cards. South Korean media, reports that Galaxy S3 will feature a 4.8-inch display with 16:9 ratio. The Korean giant will release its Smartphone next month.

HTC One X is powered by 1.5 GigaHertz quad-core Tegra 3 processor. The iPhone 5 is expected to come with A6 processor which will be powerful when compared to A5. Galaxy S3 is rumoured to have 1.5 GigaHertz Quad-core CPU and Exynos chipset.

HTC One X includes a rear-camera of 8-megapixel which features auto-focus, LED flash, geo-tagging and face and smile detection. According to Patently Apple, the tech giant has filed a patent application for a 3D imaging camera. Probably, it could make its debut in the upcoming iPhone 5. The camera will be applicable for both video and photography. If the company will introduce the killer 3D camera in iPhone 5, the feature could give an edge over the competition.

Samsung's Galaxy S3 is expected to have a whopping 12-megapixel rear-camera with support for 1080p full HD video recording and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video calling.

HTC One X has a 32 GB internal storage, including 26 GB for the user as well as 1 GB RAM. Apple's iPhone 5 is rumoured to include 16/32/64 GB internal storage sans external microSD support.

In contrast, the Galaxy S3 adds internal storage options of 16 GB/32 GB and a microSD expansion slot supporting up to 32 GB.

HTC's One X equips a Li-Ion 1800mAh standard battery. While, the iPhone 5 is expected to provide improved battery life than its predecessor iPhone 4S with a 1750mAh standard battery.
