Romance between Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed is reportedly blooming and the Vampire Diaries star thinks she is the one for him.

"His relationship with Nina [Dobrev] was what it was - it lasted the amount of time it was meant to last - but with Nikki, he feels like he has found the one," a source told Hollywood Life.

"Ian is in love with Nikki and the life they have, and he wants to share his love because he is not ashamed of the greatness that his life is experiencing with her in it," the source added.

Somerhalder and Reed have only been dating a few months, but things are already serious between the two, it is reported. The couple has moved in together and adopted two "babies": a chestnut brown horse named Eagle and a cat.

"Went to the animal shelter today to give some love to the babies living in cages who don't have homes and ended up adopting this little girl! What should we name her?" Reed wrote on Instagram about the kitty.

Somerhalder is thrilled about the adoption and tweeted: "iamnikkireed's photo... The newest addition to the family! Holy shit this little GIRL is amazing! PLEASE Adopt Adopt Adopt."

Meanwhile, Somerhalder's ex, and his co-star, Nina Dobrev, is not thrilled by his former love's excessive display of affection for Nikki Reed on the sets.

Some sources also claimed that Dobrev is contemplating quitting the show after this season.

According to Hollywood Life, Nina is leaning on her best friend, Jessica Szohr, to get over Ian.

"Jessica and Nina are together nonstop lately; they're getting super close," the source said.

"She's friends with Nikki too so she's trying not to take sides. She's working on getting them to talk things out and make up but she's not pushing; she's definitely on Team Nina if it came down to that."

The Vampire Diaries current track involves Damon, (Ian Somerhalder) coming back from the dead to reunite with his girlfriend Elena (Nina Dobrev).

The remaining episodes will feature a lot of the couple, which brings us to the question: can the two keep their personal differences aside and work as a team?
