iHeartRadio Music Awards 2016 winners list: Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Twenty One Pilots steal the show
While the country music world was having its own celebration in the form of AMC Awards in Las Vegas; at The Forum in Inglewood, California, it was time to recognise radio's favourite artists.
Taylor Swift once again turned out to be the big winner for the night at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, hosted by Jason Derulo on 3 April. She won best female artist, album of the year, best tour and most meme-able moment.
While accepting her award for best album, the Bad Blood singer took time to thank boyfriend Calvin Harris (real name Adam Wiles) in her speech. "For the first time, I had the most amazing person to come home to when the spotlight went out and when the crowds were all gone," she said. "So I want to thank my boyfriend Adam for that."
Harris himself won an award for best dance artist while Swift's close friend Selena Gomez won the triple threat award for her work as a singer, actor and dancer. Justin Bieber also collected a few wins at the public vote-based awards show. Apart from male artist of the year, he won the dance song of the year award alongside Skrillex and Diplo. Bieber's massive fan following, known as Beliebers, won an award of their own – for being the best fan army.
U2 was awarded the iHeartRadio innovator award for their contribution to music.
