'I'm crying': Suits fans react to Meghan Markle and Patrick J Adams' reported exit after season 7

Suits season 7 may be the end of the road for Mike Ross and Rachel Zane. According to multiple publications, Meghan Markle and Patrick J Adams are reportedly set to leave the USA Network drama by the end of season 7.

The news comes as the production crew wrapped up the filming of the second half of season 7. Although there is no official renewal news on season 8 by USA Network, Markle and Adams may not reprise their roles, reported Deadline.

Us Weekly has even confirmed the news of the departure and quoted a source as saying, "He was always leaving the show. He made his mind up a while ago. Patrick wants to pursue other things and he's realised his time at Suits has come to an end."

"They were waiting for Gabriel Macht to sign. He's going back, so there will be a season 8 and as of now, 9," the insider added.

The source also said that there will be a wedding between Mike and Rachel in the second half of season 7 and that "will make it an easy break for Meghan to leave as well".

Suits fans are not happy with the news and took to Twitter to share their frustration. A user wrote, "Oh this makes me sad!" Another emotional fan tweeted, "MEGHAN MARKLE AND PATRICK J ADAMS ARE LEAVING #SUITS I AM SHOOK NO F**KING WAY I'm crying on the inside."

"Apparently, #PatrickJAdams & #MeghanMarkle are leaving #SuitsUSA after season 7 or something? Ummm, wtf. It won't be the same show without them! #Suits," another follower commented.

However, some fans aren't surprised by Markle's decision to quit as rumours about her engagement to British royal boyfriend Prince Harry are doing the rounds. A user said, "Huh, not shocked by Meghan Markle. Probably leaving Suits due to the Royal Family and all, but Patrick maybe too? Dunno how it'd work without Mike."

Adams departure is surprising, said a user, noting, "I'm pretty sure everyone was expecting Meghan Markle to be leaving after this season, but Patrick leaving is a complete surprise! I guess at least their characters will get a happy ending, rather than breaking up or being killed off. #Suits."

Last year, actress Gina Torres, who played Jessica Pearson, left the show in season 5 but will return full-time in Suits spin-off series, which is as yet unnamed but set to premiere in 2018.

Previously, showrunner Aaron Korsh spoke to Deadline in September about the contracts of the remaining cast members ending in season 7.

He had said at the time, "They all have things going on in their lives, we'll see what happens. This is true on all long-running shows, and people have things happening in their lives. When Gina [Torres] left, I could not have predicted that the way her life was going. She loved being on the show, and we loved having her on the show, that's why we're doing the spin-off."

" I would never have guessed that she would want to leave early, but she did, and it ended up working out. Even though she left early, look at how often we still see Jessica [Pearson] throughout season 6 and 7. I'm going to let whatever happens happen and hope it all works out," he added.
