Overview
In the fourth ODI at Eden Gardens, India created history thanks to the record knock of opening batsman Rohit Sharma, who returned to the international stage after suffering a finger injury in August.
The right-handed batsman scored a mammoth 264 runs off 173 balls and became the highest run getter in the shorter version of the game. Also, Sharma became the only player to score two double hundreds.
With his brilliant knock, India posted 404 runs and in return, Sri Lanka were bowled out for 251 runs with less than six overs to spare. India won by 153 runs and took a 4-0 lead in the series.
Indian skipper Virat Kohli has expressed his desire for another win in the final ODI and a defeat for the World Champions would only add to their woes.
