India: Xiaomi Redmi Note 'High-Ender' Launching in November 2014
Chinese smartphone brand Xiaomi, which already has the 'highly popular' Redmi 1S 'affordable' smartphone in India, is now all set to launch a high-end Redmi smartphone viz Redmi Note in India.
According to an India Today report, the high-end Redmi Note will be launched in India by the end of November, thus making the device a worthy competitor to the likes of Apple's iPhone 6 Plus and Samsung's Galaxy Note 4; both of which are slated to hit Indian retail stores in the second week of October 2014.
"This month is interesting because this is Diwali here and bringing the device in large quantities is turning out to be much more difficult. We can't even charter a plan to bring units to India from factories in China due to the rush," stated Xiaomi's Hugo Barra, to India Today.
For starters, Xiaomi Redmi Note has an ultra-affordable price tag of Rs 10,000 (£102), and the device is expected to be an instant hit as soon as it is released in India.
Xiaomi's Redmi Note comes with the following key hardware aspects:
- 5.5in HD display
- 1.7GHz octa-core processor
- 2GB RAM
- 13mp rear camera
- 5Mp front camera
- Dual SIM-card support
- 8GB internal storage
- MicroSD card slot for expansion up to 32GB
- 4G LTE connectivity
- 3,500 mAh battery
Xiaomi's Redmi Note is also expected to come in four storage variants - 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB respectively, with the pricing of all these models yet to surface.
