Injustice 2: New trailer confirms Suicide Squad stars Harley Quinn and Deadshot
DC super-villains added to NetherRealm Studios' sequel with designs inspired by David Ayer's 2016 movie.
Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment has released a new trailer for Injustice 2, confirming Suicide Squad members Harley Quinn and Deadshot for NetherRealm Studio's DC-based brawler. While the two super-villains appeared in Injustice: Gods Among Us (Quinn as a playable fighter and Deadshot in a cameo), their character and costume designs in the upcoming sequel seem to be closely inspired by their look in David Ayer's 2016 summer blockbuster.
The Xbox One and PS4 fighter was announced in June and is set to boast the "biggest DC roster ever".
With key Justice League members such as Batman, Superman, The Flash, Wonder Woman and Aquaman outed in the initial teaser, the roster has been further fleshed out since, with the two Suicide Squad "bad guys" becoming the highest profile additions.
Former Arkham Asylum psychiatrist Dr. Harleen Frances Quinzel is seen in the trailer (embedded below) wielding her trusty hammer and baseball bat, dual-pistols and sticks of dynamite. The Joker's on-off lover also calls on a pair of canines (possibly Bud and Lou) as an assist attack and is seen sporting several different outfits inspired by her various appearances in from DC's comics and cartoons.
It's hard not to think of Margot Robbie's excellent on-screen performance as Quinn when you see Injustice 2's incarnation however, especially with those blue and red pigtails. Expert marksman Deadshot also debuts in a flashy, gun-toting display and is seen giving The Dark Knight a firm beating.
While a firm date has not been set for Injustice 2, leaks prior to the game's official reveal stated that the game was targeting a March release.
