A new hilarious video of an army of giant, inflated dancing Pikachu at the recent Pokémon World Festival 2017 that took place in Songdo, South Korea, has captivated the internet. Dancing to a number of catchy tunes, all seems to be going well as the perfectly-choreographed creatures shuffle and bop their way around the stage until something goes wrong.

After a few minutes into the performance, however, the lead Pikachu dancer suddenly begins to deflate (seen around the 1:00 minute mark) whilst dancing to You Can't Stop The Beat from the musical Hairspray. Even before the creature's pointed ears wilt, seven suited staffers rush to aggressively grab the dancer and pull him off the stage.

Ironically, Nikki Blonsky is busting out the lyrics, "And you can try to stop my dancing feet, but I just cannot stand still" as the lead Pikachu begins to quickly deflate but bravely continues dancing like no one is watching.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Pikachu performers continue dancing during the debacle.

One YouTube video explains in Korean that the first man dressed in a white shirt who rushes to rescue Pikachu is actually an event staff member. However, a second security guard, who does not realise the first man is a staffer, runs to the dancing pocket monster's aid before others scramble in after.

Towards the end of the song, the deflated Pikachu even attempts to make a comeback to cheers from audience. However, it simply was not meant to be.

As expected, it didn't take social media long to go nuts over the amusing footage. While some sarcastically claimed that the incident was a preview of a dystopian world where even Pikachu is not safe, others saw themselves in the deflating Pikachu.

"Dystopian nightmare as defective Pikachu kidnapped by secret agents in broad daylight," one Twitter user wrote.

"Raise your hand if you're the deflated Pikachu of your friend group," another wrote.
