iOS 5 Jailbreak: How to Install Siri on A4 Devices Using Spire and Proxy Server [VIDEOS]
For those of you wondering if there is a way to install Siri on Apple devices running the A4 chip (the iPhone 4, the iPhone 3GS, the original iPad and the iPod Touch), the Spire and proxy server techniques come to your rescue.
The project is better known as i4Siri and has been under development for the past few weeks. It is now available for free.
According to Cydiahelp, users should note that i4Siri is not a Siri port on to an older device but rather a smart Siri server, which needs Siri to be ported to the iDevice. The free utility based on Spire and Proxy server techniques does not require a registered iPhone 4S anymore.
Nevertheless, Spire needs the device to be running iOS 5. There may, in addition, be temporary bandwidth connection problems due to severe load on the i4Siri servers but it should work fine after a while.
Install Siri On iPhone 4, 3GS iPad And iPod Touch
STEP 1: First up, you need to jailbreak your device. In case you're on iOS 5.0.1, you can use our guide posted below for A4 devices and also iPhone 4S and iPad 2 to get untethered jailbreak. iOS 5.1 can be also semi-untethered jailbroken using the video guide below for A4 devices.
STEP 2: Once jailbroken, search Cydia website and install Spire jailbreak tweak. Tap "install" and hit "confirm". Wait for the download to finish
STEP 3: After downloading Spire, open Settings app > Go to General > Siri, and turn Siri on
STEP 4: Now get back to Settings > Spire and enter https://i4sirifree.mooo.com/ into the proxy URL field
