Jared Leto, Will Smith, and Margot Robbie talk about Suicide Squad in a behind-the-scene video
Suicide Squad is a movie about bad versus evil, says Will Smith.
Actors Jared Leto, Will Smith, and Margot Robbie have shared interesting details about their upcoming DC movie Suicide Squad, which is set for release on 5 August, 2016. The movie is about the government recruiting world's notorious super villains to execute dangerous missions.
Smith plays Deadshot, the world's deadliest and most accurate marksman, Leto plays Joker, Batman's arch-nemesis, and Robbie plays Harley Quinn aka Joker's psychotic sidekick in the movie. Smith spoke about Deadshot role in the behind-the-scene clip released by ET Online.
The After Earth actor said in the clip, "There's a part of [Deadshot] that is thinking, 'Maybe I might have made a wrong turn or two in [my] life." The 47-year-old actor went on to reveal that the movie is about "bad versus evil". Smith said, "We sort of landed on the separation between being a bad guy and being evil. It's not a movie about good versus evil, it's a movie about bad versus evil."
Leto is however thankful to get a chance to play the role of Joker. "I didn't realize that the Joker was 75 years old – the story of the Joker. I never thought in a million years that I would have the chance to play a role like this," said the Dallas Buyers Club actor.
Robbie spoke about her character, Harley's relationship with Joker in the video. "Dr. Harleene Quinzell is who Harley Quinn was before she became Harley Quinn. She was working at Arkham Asylum and that's where she met Joker and fell for Joker and then born out of that was the transformation into Harley Quinn."
Suicide Squad takes place in a post-Superman world, following the events of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. The movie also stars actors Jai Courtney, Joel Kinnaman, Cara Delevingne, Viola Davis, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Adam Beach, Jay Hernandez and Karen Fukahara.
