Jessica Ennis-Hill confirms her availability for the World Athletics Championships in Beijing
Jessica Ennis-Hill has confirmed her availability for the World Athletics Championships in Beijing this summer. The 2012 Olympic champion made the announcement via her Instagram account following discussions with coach Toni Minichiello and is now in line to appear in her first major tournament since the birth of her son, Reggie.
"My coach and I have made the decision that I am going to make myself available for the World Champs," the 28-year-old wrote.
Ennis-Hill's decision comes days after her appearance in the Anniversary Games at the Olympic Stadium, where she produced her three best performances since winning gold at London 2012.
Her fifth-place finish in the 100m hurdles on 24 July was bettered by a season's best time of 23.49 secs in the 200m on 25 July.
The heptathlete finished the weekend with her best long jump performance since London 2012 with a 6.37m.
Great Britain is expected to announce its final squad for the World Championships at 2pm on 28 July.
