Jessie J and Luke James split: Did Bang Bang songstress end romance over fears he was using her?
Pop superstar Jessie J is reportedly back on the market after ending her 11-month romance with R'n'B star Luke James. The Sun reports that the former The Voice coach called time on the relationship amid fears that was dating her in the hope of "raising his profile in the music industry".
Jessie J enjoyed international success in 2014 when Bang Bang, her collaborative track with Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande, dominated the charts and bagged her a UK number 1. But a source told the newspaper that although her career has been going from strength to strength ever since, her personal life is in turmoil.
"Jessie fell hard for Luke, but over the summer she started having doubts," an insider confirmed.
She was supposedly wary of the 31-year-old's intentions and wondered if he was being genuine.
The British songbird went public with her new beau back in November 2014 by sharing a series of snaps of them cuddled up on Instagram. "It's crazy how your priorities change as you get older and everything you watch in films that you never really understood start making complete sense. With age comes understanding," she captioned one particular image. "It's one of life's most exquisite feelings to find someone who loves you, like really loves you and accepts you and gets you!!! This man is a light in my life... @wolfjames is one of a kind."
In July, the brunette beauty revealed that she was keen to start a family when asked what she would like to do with her life: "Have a baby –not today! But that's something that I hope that I'm blessed with in my life."
IBTimes UK has approached Jessie's representative for comment but had received no reply at press time.
Although the couple have not confirmed their split, they hinted that there was trouble in paradise on social media. James unfollowed his rumoured ex on Twitter and she in turn posted a motivational message on her timeline. Her cryptic message read: "You got this girl. You are stronger than you think x."
