JLS star Oritsé Williams denies allegations of raping 20-year-old fan
West Midlands Police said it has launched an investigation into the rape allegations.
Former JLS singer Oritsé Williams denies rape allegations concerning a 20-year-old fan, according to a statement released today by his music label 10 Worlds Music UK.
The woman claims Williams, 30, raped her at a hotel where he invited her and a friend for a drink after his performance promoting his solo album Waterline at the Gorgeous Club in School Street.
She told police she and her friend left the hotel to get a taxi but then realised they left a handbag with a purse inside and one of them went back to retrieve it.
This was when the alleged rape and sexual assault took place.
No charges have been brought against the singer but police have confirmed they are investigating an allegation of rape on December 2 and looking through CCTV footage to identify the two girls.
"One of the girls knocked on the door saying she wanted to retrieve her stuff and was let back in," a source told The Sun on Sunday.
"It's then she says she was raped. Police were called to the hotel shortly afterwards to a report of rape and Williams was arrested there."
A force spokesman told the newspaper: "West Midlands Police were called to a Wolverhampton hotel at 7.45am on Friday December 2 after an allegation of rape and sexual assault was made by a 20-year-old woman.
"A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of rape and a 29-year-old man arrested on suspicion of sexual assault.
"Both men have been bailed until February, pending further enquiries."
A representative from his record label 10 Worlds Music UK on Sunday said: "All we wish to say at this time is that Oritsé denies the allegations against him. The matter is in the hands of the police and it would be totally wrong for us to comment any further."
JLS became a popular boy band after finishing up as runners-up on The X-Factor in 2008. They sold 10 million albums before breaking up in 2013. Williams has been a solo performer ever since and was recently performing his Waterline remix album in Wolverhampton.
