Joe Manganiello has given fans an update on when the solo Batman movie will start filming. Manganiello is set to play Slade Wilson/Deathstroke in the DC movie, which will star Ben Affleck as the Caped Crusader.
The True Blood actor, who appeared in the latest episode of The Rich Eisen Show, was asked if the movie was wrapped-up to which he said, "Uh, no. We will start at some point this year, it looks like."
When asked to share the plot details of his upcoming superhero flick, the actor said that he "can speak cryptically about it" and added, "It's about Gotham... and there's this guy that dresses like a bat."
However, the actor did provide a short description about his character, Deathstroke. "I play a one-eyed – like, the world's deadliest assassin who also has one eye," the 39-year-old actor said.
Previously, the actor had opened up about his first meeting with Affleck and teased a "great movie". Manganiello said, "When I met Ben [Affleck] we sat down and we talked about, you know, the role. Because it's a road that no one's really gone down that's completely integral to, you know, who Batman is."
Manganiello also praised his co-actor and director Affleck and said, "Ben's a great director, man. I mean the last movie that man directed won best picture. He's got an Oscar for writing. Like, this is all the components to go down as a... everything is lined up for a really really really great movie. Not only a superhero movie but just a great great movie."
The Gone Girl actor will co-write the script along with Geoff Johns and star as Gotham city's savior in the upcoming Batman movie.
