Jolla Sailfish Smartphones Now Officially Available For Purchase

Jolla Sailfish smartphones have now been launched officially in India, and are available for purchase online from India's major e-commerce major Snapdeal. These smartphones are priced at INR 16,500 (£165).

The Jolla Smartphone runs on the Sailfish operating platform developed by various ex-employees of Nokia, and the smartphone comes with a 4.5in display, and an 8MP primary camera.

The 8MP primary camera should enable basic photography on occasions such as family gatherings and picnics.

Hardware-aspect wise, the Jolla Smartphone incorporates the following key technical specifications:

• 4.5in qHD display with 960x450 pixel resolution, enclosed within Gorilla Glass
• Sailfish operating platform
• 1.4GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, with 1GB RAM
• 8MP primary camera, and a 2MP secondary camera
• 16 GB internal storage, expandable via external microSD card
• Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, 3G and microUSB connectivity
• 2,100 mAh replaceable battery with a claimed talktime of nearly 10 hours, along with a claimed standby time of 500 hours.
