Jose Mourinho includes Axel Tuanzebe and Timothy Fosu-Mensah in Manchester United's squad for Burnley clash
Marcos Rojo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic have been ruled out after suffering knee injuries against Anderlecht.
Manchester United will take on Burnley in the Premier League clash at Turf Moor on Sunday (23 April) and Jose Mourinho has decided to leave Antonio Valencia out of the travelling squad to face the Clarets.
According to the Manchester Evening News, the Ecuadorian international was not spotted at The Lowry Hotel on Saturday. The Portuguese tactician has seen the Red Devils hit by injury crisis, particularly at the back four.
Chris Smalling and Phil Jones have not featured for the 20-time English champions since they picked up injuries while on international duty with England in March. The English duo are now joined by Marcos Rojo after the South American defender suffered a knee injury in the Europa League second leg victory over Anderlecht at Old Trafford.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic also suffered a knee injury in United's last tie in the European competition. Mourinho, who earlier confirmed that Smalling and Jones will not return to action until mid-May has urged the England international duo to be brave and make a quick return from injury following Rojo's latest setback.
Rojo was stretchered off the field against Anderlecht and was replaced by Daley Blind in the first half. United have the services of the Dutchman and last summer signing Eric Bailly as the two recognised central defenders in the squad.
The Manchester Evening News report said that Mourinho has included teenagers Axel Tuanzebe and Timothy Fosu-Mensah in the squad for the Burnley clash. Luke Shaw and Matteo Darmian are also included in the squad and the two could be deployed on either side of the back four with Fosu-Mensah provided cover on the bench.
It should be seen whether Tuanzebe will partner Bailly or Mourinho would prefer to go with the experience of Blind against Sean Dyche's side. The former Real Madrid and Chelsea manager hinted that the 19-year-old academy graduate could make his full debut for United after the injury crisis rocked the Old Trafford club.
"Now we need absolutely everyone. Now I even have to think Axel Tuanzebe goes to the under-something World Cup in Korea because maybe Axel has to come now. Now we need everybody," Mourinho explained, as quoted by United's official website.
