Jurassic World 2 plot: 'Epic' underwater scene involving aquatic dinosaurs teased by Kevin Lane
Filming for the sequence begins in May this year.
Jurassic World fans are in for a major treat in the upcoming sequel as there will be an "epic" underwater action scene involving aquatic dinosaurs. Actor Kevin Lane, who has joined the cast of the Jurassic Park sequel, teased a major scene that will leave fans mesmerised.
While speaking with Management in Stage and Film, the actor revealed that he is playing a submarine pilot in the highly anticipated sequel and will shoot a scene in May where his character will be chased by underwater dinosaurs.
"I read for two parts, and ended up getting the role of 'submarine pilot', which was the role I wanted as it is quite an epic scene. So I should have a nice cinematic moment on screen in a massive studio film. Filming starts in May [so] hopefully I'll be in one of their amazing contraptions, pretending that there's dinosaurs around me," he told the website.
Rumours of an underwater sequence in Jurassic World featuring giant prehistoric reptiles started floating a few years back. However, the fourth sequel only has a few snippets of the giant mosasaurs in a highly guarded enclosure.
Fan theories suggest that the action sequence will put the park into chaos yet again after another fiasco by the genetic engineering company InGen, leading to the mosasaurs escaping from their enclosure. It is possible that the dinosaur and its pack will chase Lane's deep into the ocean.
As fans have gone used to action sequences involving Tyrannosaurus Rex and other deadly dinosaurs, a thrilling scene involving a giant marine reptile attacking a submarine would surely add life to the long-running sci-fi franchise.
Earlier, Jurassic World was criticised for not being scary enough. But recently, Chris Pratt, who plays the dinosaur trainer Owen Grady in the film, promised that the upcoming film will be a scarier version of the previous movie. "I think it's going to be a scarier version. A little bit darker and will continue to expand and carry the story forward in a way that is really unexpected and you wouldn't have imagined."
Directed by JA Bayona, Jurassic World 2 will release in the UK on 7 June 2018, following which it will hit theatres across the world on 22 June.
