Just Cause 3 trailer: Rico Rodriguez is a firestarter in Avalanche Studios sequel

Avalanche Studios and Square Enix have released the first cinematic trailer for anticipated sandbox sequel Just Cause 3.

The CG trailer takes us through the destructive mind of series hero Rico Rodriguez before showing the hero take flight through the game's fictional Mediterranean locale, an island called Medici.

Torre Florim provides the scintilating cover of The Progidy's Firestarter. Florim is the front-man for popular Dutch rock group De Staat, and his cover can be listened to in full below.

Just Cause 3 was revealed in the November issue of US gaming magazine Game Informer, and will be released later this year - five years after its successful predecessor, which has become something of a cult classic.

Just Cause has proven popular because of its wanton destruction and disregard for the laws of physics - after all, why let gravity spoil the fun? Developers Avalanche have confirmed that the grapple hook and parachute, which aid Rico in his escapades, will return.

Just Cause 3 is set for release in late 2015 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
