Justin Bieber 'Killed 7-Year-Old Boy Video' Revealed as Facebook Scam
A viral Facebook post that claims Canadian pop star Justin Bieber killed a seven-year-old boy who was walking to school with his 12-year-old sister in a DUI-related crash has turned out to be a Facebook scam.
"Breaking News: Justin Bieber Did it Again!! This time it's OVER…DUI," the title read.
Adding on, the description says, "Justine Bieber [sic] did it again! this time his CAREER is over.. He accidentaly killed a 7-Year-Old Boy that was walking to school with 12-Year-Old Sister..Police Investigate that bieber is positive in DUI."
Fans took to Facebook and Twitter trying to find out if the post was true.
A Twitter user wrote: "'justin bieber kills 7 year old boy' is in suggestions. are you f**king serious?"
"Mygahd! My Mom from US says that Justin Bieber was accidentally killed a 7yr old kid while he was driving, He's in prison now. #RIPToTheKid," another fan added.
However, there is no video as such and the link directs to a fake page that asks the user to provide it access to their Facebook account before viewing it, thus spreading the scam.
Scammers often use sensational news or false stories with a provoking headline because users tend to share them without verifying the news.
Last month, the 19-year-old Baby singer was charged with driving under the influence, speeding, resisting arrest, and driving with an expired licence after he was stopped by police in a residential area of Miami Beach in the early hours.
