Juventus will be out to secure a first-leg advantage when they face German champions Bayern Munich in an eagerly-anticipated Champions League round of 16 clash in Turin on 23 February.

Where to watch live

Kick-off is set for 7.45pm GMT. The game will be broadcast live on BT Sport 2.

Overview

Italian champions Juventus's 13-match winning run in all competitions came to an end at the weekend as they were held to a goalless stalemate at Bologna. The Old Lady have won 11 games on the trot at the Juventus Stadium but have lost their last three meetings with Bayern Munich.

Former Bayern forward Mario Mandzukic is racing to recover from a thigh problem and is doubtful for the hosts, while Giorgio Chiellini (calf) could also miss out. Defenders Alex Sandro and Martin Caceres and midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah all remain sidelined through injury.

Pep Guardiola's Bayern Munich came from behind to beat Darmstadt at the weekend to extend their unbeaten run in the league to seven matches. The Bavarian giants are the only foreign team to have beaten Juventus on Italian soil in the past decade.

Franck Ribery and Mario Gotze could both start for the visitors after shaking off muscle problems but defensive duo Jerome Boateng (thigh) and Javi Martinez (knee) are sidelined. Centre-back Medhi Benatia (leg) is a doubt.

What managers say

Massimiliano Allegri: "I admire [Guardiola], his Barcelona team had incredible class. Of course we study the opponents but it makes no sense to be thinking about that all day, it would drive you crazy. I tell my players all the time, 'You guys make the tactics'. They must play feeling happy, otherwise there is no sense in even taking to the pitch."

Pep Guardiola: "You need dream goals to win against Darmstadt. I am satisfied, we were patient, and had 36 shots on goal, but it was difficult against their many defensive players. I am happy that Franck has celebrated his comeback, even if it wasn't for 90 minutes."
