Kansas State University lockdown: Manhattan campus told to lock doors while 'armed male on loose'
Kansas State University has been put on lockdown amid fears an armed man was roaming the Manhattan campus. The university has urged students and staff to stay inside and lock their doors until further notice after the suspect was spotted earlier on Friday morning (4 September).
The university warned on Twitter: "Possible armed suspect last seen south side of campus. Light skinned black male wearing dirty white shirt and shorts. Shelter in place. Officers are continuing to search for the possibly armed subject on Manhattan campus. Please stay inside and lock your doors until further notice."
Police are continuing to search campus and students and staff have been told to avoid it until police have given the all clear.
UPDATE: The all clear has been issued and classes will resume at 9:30am local time.
