Kate Middleton back to work: Duchess of Cambridge to resume royal duties for Queen's birthday parade
It had been thought that Kate Middleton would enjoy an extended leave of absence after giving birth to Princess Charlotte, but it looks like she might be returning to royal duties sooner rather than later.
According to OK magazine, the Duchess of Cambridge will be ending her maternity leave as early as June, with Queen Elizabeth's birthday parade being her first public engagement.
It is believed that the mother-of-two will be present at the event due to take place on 13 June.
The duchess and Prince William welcomed their second child, Princess Charlotte on 2 May, weighing 8lb 3oz, just two hours after Middleton was admitted to the Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital.
In 2013, the royal fashionista returned to work just eight weeks after the birth of Prince George and a month later the royal couple hired nanny Maria Borrallo.
A source close to the royals said that the Queen "thinks a month is more than enough time for Kate to take off before she should return to performing her royal duties".
The insider adds: "It's a huge public event, an incredible pageant carried out by the Queen's personal troops. Kate will be on show for it, dressed up in a smart outfit, with the eyes of the world on her."
In April, it was reported that Middleton had decided against hiring a second nanny and was planning an extended leave of absence to "fully enjoy the bonding experience with her two children".
"They are happy with the arrangement. If anything changes it wouldn't be for a while," a source told People magazine."She felt she came back too soon later time. She wants to have that [family time] and enjoy it with George and the new baby."
The insider also added that Prince William fully supported his wife's decision because he was keen to give the children the type of upbringing he never had.
Meanwhile, Middleton has been working hard on her post-baby body by following a healthy routine inspired by her sister Pippa.
"Pippa arranged to have fresh juices delivered to Kate every three days," a source told Us Weekly. "It was a surprise treat. Kate used to blend her own juices and this is much easier."
"She just enjoys green juice in the morning. It's Kate's go-to for an extra boost," the insider added.
