Kate Middleton Pregnancy News: Duchess of Cambridge Expecting Royal Baby in July
Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, is due to give birth to her first child in July. And she is not expecting twins.
"Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to confirm they are expecting a baby in July," a statement from St James' Palace said, "The Duchess's condition continues to improve since her stay in hospital last month."
The announcement comes after medical scans show the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's baby in excellent health. St James' Palace also confirmed the couple would not accept public engagements for the next few weeks, as Prince William will commit himself to the Royal Air Force's (RAF) Search and Rescue force.
The Duchess was ordered to rest after she left the King Edward VII Hospital on 6 December, after being diagnosed with acute morning sickness. Hyperemesis Gravidarum is a "potentially serious" ailment that causing vomiting and a bodily reaction against intake of food and liquids. This sickness, commonly found in pregnant women carrying twins, could last up to the 21st week of pregnancy. However, this announcement rules out the speculation that the Duchess had been expecting two babies.
Recently, the Queen declared all children of the Duke of Cambridge would be given the title of Prince/Princess.
The Duchess, who turned 31 this month, was last seen in public during a visit to the National Portrait Gallery, with Prince William, for the unveiling of her first official portrait and she was delighted with the result, calling it "amazing" and "brilliant".
Meanwhile, former Spice Girl-turned-fashion designer Victoria Beckham has reportedly agreed to help the couple to welcome their first child together.
"Victoria's promised to help Kate through the pregnancy. She's keen to share the wisdom four pregnancies has given her," a source told Now magazine, adding, "Kate totally admires Victoria and what she's achieved. She also wants to be a hands-on, hard-working mum and wants to know how Victoria makes the whole thing look so effortless."
