Katey Sagal urges new show Mayan MC to respect Sons of Anarchy legacy
FX is yet to declare the premiere date of the Sons of Anarchy spinoff series.
FX's cult biker drama Sons of Anarchy ended its seven glorious seasons in 2014, but fans are still not over their favourite show. Creator Kurt Sutter is currently busy working on the spinoff project titled Mayan MC. And as the show is nearing its production time, Katey Sagal has welcomed the new show and urged it to 'respect' the legacy of SOA.
Sagal, who is also the wife of Sutter, shared an image on Instagram welcoming the new show and its cast members. The caption reads: "From us to them. Ep1 table read. @soafx @mayansmc_onfx with love... @sutterink @elginjames @fxnetworks."
In her message to the new show, she urged the cast ensemble to enjoy one of the greatest rides with the upcoming show. "Welcome Mayans MC. Respect the ride, respect the legacy, and enjoy one of the greatest rides of your lives. Your SOA brother's and sister's. With love, Charlie, Maggie, Boone, Kim, Dayton, Tommy, Theo, & Katey," the message on the picture reads.
According to the official synopsis of the SOA spinoff, the show begins after Jax Teller's death. The story will focus on a young man named Ezekiel, who is a gifted son of a Latino family, but his simple dreams are shattered after cartel violence. Driven by revenge, he enters into a world he can hardly escape. JD Pardo will play Ezekiel "EZ" Reyes in the highly anticipated action drama.
