Katie Price Gives Birth to Baby Boy Jett Riviera Following Emergency Caesarean Operation
Katie Price has given birth to a baby boy eight weeks early, following an emergency Caesarean operation.
The 35-year-old former glamour model and television personality welcomed Jett Riviera who weighed 5lb 2oz - her first child with husband Kieran Hayler. Price reportedly suffered from a potentially life-threatening infection which could harm her unborn child in her womb. She revealed that the baby's heart rate "fell dangerously low" before she was forced to go into labour early.
"I went through a nightmare. The baby's heart rate was also really low. The next thing I know the nurse is in my room saying get ready now," she told the Mirror.
Price was upset that the father of her child, Hayler was out shopping and not allowed into the operating theatre.
"I was in a state. He's never seen me like that before. He must have thought his wife had turned into a lunatic... I was sobbing, "I love you, I love you"," she told The Sun, adding, "It felt so unfair because Kieran and I didn't get that moment couples should share. But more importantly I didn't even know what my baby weighed or if he was OK."
Her brother Danny Price took to Twitter to share the news from her official account, tweeting: "Many thanks for all your kind words of support and congratulations. Kieran and myself are so happy with our baby Jett. We look forward to coming home when allowed and introducing him to our families."
Price already has three children - Harvey, 11, with former Manchester United player Dwight Yorke, Junior, eight, and Princess, six, with former husband Peter Andre.
