Katy Perry and Taylor Swift feud: Ellie Goulding reveals real reason why she deleted photo with Roar singer
Ellie Goulding made headlines when she posted a photo of herself with American singer/songwriter Katy Perry on Instagram and then quickly deleted it.
Fans suspected that the 28-year-old Love Me Like You Do singer removed the image because of her friendship with American singer/songwriter Taylor Swift, who is not in good terms with the Roar singer.
However, Goulding told Ode that she deleted the picture because she did not like her look in it.
"No, I deleted that because I looked bad in it," she said. "And I think I was a bit drunk. And I thought it wasn't a very good example of myself. That's so funny that, um, that's even a thing. No, I delete things all the time! ... I'm very used to things being made up. That's ridiculous. I'm great friends with Katy, I'm great friends with Taylor. That's very silly. I just looked terrible in it. I zoomed in on my actual photo, and I was like, 'no'."
The 25-year-old Red singer and Perry were best friends for a long time before things got bad between the two.
In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Swift revealed that the song Bad Blood from her latest album 1989, is about a former friend. The two apparently fought over backup dancers.
Perry took a dig at Swift during the 2015 Super Bowl half-time show, which took place on 1 February at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona.
During the performance, the 30-year-old singer's backup dancers wore high-waist polka dot bikinis, something similar to what Swift had worn while holidaying with Conor Kennedy on the shores of Hyannis Port, Massachusetts in 2012.
